5 Breakfast Smoothie Ideas

 Personally I love having smoothies for breakfast as they keep me going all morning and don’t cause me to bloat or feel lethargic like other breakfast foods. It is a great way to sneak vegetables into your diet first thing in the day whilst masking the taste with sweeter flavours. The recipes below are designed to include 1 - 2 potions of your daily fruit and vegetable intake. No need to drink responsibly - enjoy!

THE GREENEST ONE

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ avocado

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon linseeds/flaxseeds

  • 1 handful kale

  • 1 inch piece of peeled ginger

  • 1 sprig mint

  • 1 small handful coriander

  • half a lime squeezed

  • 1 serving of protein

  • unsweetened nut milk

METHOD

Add everything to your blender and blend! Best served over ice.

THE SWEETEST ONE

 INGREDIENTS

  • ½ avocado

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 handful of frozen berries

  • 1 tablespoon almond/peanut

  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 serving of protein

  • unsweetened nut milk

METHOD

Add everything to your blender and blend!

THE EXOTIC ONE

 INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ avocado

  • ¼ coconut meat

  • 1 handful of frozen berries

  • 1 tablespoon chia

  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds

  • 1/8th teaspoon cardamom

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1 handful kale

  • squeeze of lime

  • 1 serving of protein

  • 1 - inch piece of peeled ginger

  • unsweetened nut milk

METHOD

Add everything to your blender and blend!

 

 THE COCONUTTY ONE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup coconut meat

  • coconut milk

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 handful of spinach

  • 1 tablespoon chia/flaxseed

  • 1 serving of protein

METHOD

Add everything to your blender and blend! Best served over ice.

 

 THE LOW-MAINTENANCE ONE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 handful of spinach

  • 1 tablespoon of nut butter,

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

  • 1 serving of protein

  • unsweetened nut milk
